Year 2
Welcome to Year 2!
This year we are going to turn into pirates and go and search for pirate treasure! We're going to be investigating Muck, Mess and Mixtures and learning about different foods and mud! We will be learning all about castles in our Towers, Tunnels and Turrets topic! We will be finding out all about significant people in our Movers and Shakers topic and learning how to read a map and key in our Coastline topic and so much more! We have got such an exciting year ahead of us!

We have an open door policy and want to encourage communication between home and school. Please come and speak to us if you have any questions. We also have communication books for you to be able to update us with important information, such as passwords for collection of children, celebrations and achievements of children's out of school activities and anything else you would like us to know, please encourage your children to show us these in the morning.

Useful information
PE days are on Tuesday and Friday. Please bring weather appropriate PE kit in on these days. Earrings should be removed before school and hair tied back.
HOME LEARNING: Children should be encouraged to read at home at least 5 times a week in order to complete their book quizzes on Accelerated Reader in school. They can also access TTRS at home.
EVERY DAY: Reading books, home/school diaries, P.E. kits and water bottles to be in school. (Water bottles should be taken home each day to be cleaned).
P.E. Kit
Please provide your child with the following P.E. kit, as they will be taking part in some outdoor P.E. throughout the winter.- T-shirt (house colour or white only), shorts, tracksuit bottoms, sweatshirt or hooded top, trainers/pumps.
Please bring your kit to school on a Monday and it will be returned on the Friday as there may be some weeks when children may have additional games lessons. Please ensure children have their kits in school on these days and all jewellery is removed.
