As always, we are incredibly proud of our school community and the way our children continue to shine—through their curiosity, kindness, and enthusiasm for learning.
We would like to thank all the Year 3 parents who have attended the class assemblies this week. It has been wonderful inviting you into school.
Staffing
Mrs Harridence, Head of School, will be joining the Wilnecote Team after the Easter break. She will be welcoming families at the silver gate in the mornings and at the end of the school day. Mrs Harridence will be responsible for the teaching and learning across the school. Mrs Davies will continue to be responsible for outdoor play and learning and behaviour.
We are saying 'Goodbye' to Mrs Fletcher on Monday. She has worked in the kitchen at both Wilnecote and Heathfields over the last 10 years. She would like to say, "Thank you for trusting me with cooking your children's meals. It has been a privilege to watch the children grow during their time with us."
Social Media and Messenger Apps
We are becoming increasingly aware of issues arising from children’s use of social media platforms such as TikTok, as well as messaging apps like WhatsApp. These platforms are not recommended for primary-aged children, and we do not condone their use.
Unfortunately, we are spending a growing amount of time in school dealing with conflicts and disagreements that begin online and then spill over into the classroom. This has a significant impact on children’s wellbeing and their learning.
We strongly encourage parents to monitor their child’s online activity closely and to support them in not using platforms that are not age-appropriate. Working together, we can help ensure our pupils stay safe and can focus on forming positive relationships in school.
With so many apps, games, and websites out there, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But the good news is you’re not alone. Easter Bingo
Thank you to the school staff and parents who have offered to support the Easter Bingo. We still only have some helpers, so if you are able to support with ticket sales or refreshments, please contact the school office.
Tickets are now available on Arbor.
Friday 20th March is non-uniform day. Please bring a donation for Easter Hampers.
During the week beginning 23rd March, the children will be planting a sunflower seed in class and then bringing it home to watch it grow.
Celebrations
The House Champions this week were Team Peel.
The class with the best attendance was class Sachar with 99.17%.
The class with the highest number of readers was class Shakespeare with 93%.
The class with the most TTRS engagement was class Shakespeare with 55%.
