Dear Parents and Carers,

This week has been all about times tables! We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our Year 3 parents who joined us for the TT Rock Stars workshops this week. It was wonderful to see so many families learning together and supporting their children to develop confidence and fluency in their times tables.

Today's TT Rock Stars Day has been an absolute 'ROCKSTAR' hit! Our school has been buzzing all day as pupils have enthusiastically taken part in a range of activities helping to strengthen their times tables knowledge. Seeing the children dressed up, having fun and enjoying their learning has been a real highlight of the week.

Year 3 Collection

We have recently had a concern raised regarding the number of adults gathering along the pathways at the end of the school day. When groups congregate on the paths, it can make it difficult for others to pass safely and raises the risk of trips or falls.

To help keep everyone safe, we kindly ask that parents and carers wait at the edge of pathways wherever possible, ensuring that routes around the school remain clear and accessible for all pupils, families, staff and visitors moving in and out of the school grounds.

Books! Books! Books!

We're excited to be refreshing our school library and would love your support! If you have any children's books in excellent condition that are ready for a new home, or would like to donate a new book, we would be incredibly grateful for your contribution. We are particularly keen to introduce more recent, widely loved and diverse children's books. This website gives examples of some of the titles and authors that would be a fantastic addition to our library: Best Books for KS2: Recommended Booklist for Ages 7-11

Any support, big or small, will help us provide our children with an even wider range of high-quality books to enjoy. All donations can be dropped off at the main reception.

Communication Pathway for SEND Concerns and Support

We would like to clarify the process for discussing any concerns regarding your child's learning, progress, wellbeing, or additional needs within school.

Your child's Class Teacher is always the first point of contact. As they work with your child on a daily basis, they have the most direct understanding of their learning experiences, social development, and day-to-day needs within the classroom.

If, following discussion and intervention by the Class Teacher, further support or specialist input is required, the Class Teacher will liaise with and escalate concerns to the SENDCo. The SENDCo works closely with teachers to provide additional advice, support, and guidance where appropriate.

By following this process, we can ensure that concerns are addressed promptly by the member of staff who knows your child best, whilst also ensuring that specialist support is involved when needed.

We kindly ask all parents and carers to contact their child's Class Teacher in the first instance. This helps us maintain clear communication and enables concerns to be addressed as effectively as possible.

Book Fair

We are excited to be hosting our Book Fair in school. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to explore new books, discover new authors and find their next favourite read.

The Book Fair will be open from 6th October until 9th October, with a range of books available for all ages and interests. Every purchase helps to earn rewards for our school, which can be used to purchase additional books and resources for our children.

Year 3 Assembly

Next week, Year 3 will be holding their "Welcome to Wilnecote" assembly. During the assembly, children will showcase work they are proud of, share some of their experiences so far this year and talk about their favourite things about being part of the Wilnecote community. Please arrive through the main entrance for a 9am start.
