Another Good Week at School
We have enjoyed another positive week in school, with the children settled, happy and working hard in their learning.
This term, we have introduced a more formal approach to handwriting across the school. In Reception, children are developing the strength and control in their hands needed for writing through a range of carefully planned activities. In Year 1, children are focusing on forming letters correctly and positioning them neatly on the line. In Year 2, pupils are refining their handwriting further by ensuring all lower-case letters are formed accurately and are consistent in size.
Next week, we will begin our Gold Ribbon Assemblies, where we celebrate children who have demonstrated our school values and gone above and beyond in their learning or behaviour. Families of children receiving this special recognition will receive an in-app message beforehand, so please keep an eye on your notifications.
Reception children will begin attending whole-school assemblies after half term, once they have had a little more time to settle into school routines.
Message from Reception teachers
As part of our learning about people who help us and the different jobs people do in our community, we would love to hear from any parents or family members who have an interesting job or a role where they help other people.
If you would be willing to spend a short time talking to the children about your job, we would be delighted to welcome you into school. The children always enjoy hearing about real-life experiences and learning about the different ways people contribute to our community.
If possible, it would also be wonderful if you could bring along any resources, equipment, photographs, uniforms, or other items that help to demonstrate your role and make the experience even more engaging for the children.
If you are interested and available to help, please let us know, and we will be in touch to arrange a suitable time.
