Year Six SATS
SATS takes place during the week commencing the 11th of May. Please ensure you do not book events during this week which will result in your child being absent from school.
Reading Fluency Matters!
Once children become established readers, it's vital they continue reading aloud regularly. This helps them maintain progress, keep pace with their peers, and develop age-appropriate fluency – the ability to read words quickly, with expression (prosody), and full understanding.
Fluency Targets by Year Group:
Make it Fun! Try playing speed-reading games with your child to make fluency practice enjoyable. Use a timer, challenge them to beat their own record, or turn it into a friendly competition!
Watch this 3-minute video on how to support reading at home — it’s packed with practical tips to help your child thrive.

OPAL

We’re thrilled to share that the children have absolutely loved the new slide! It’s brought a fresh wave of excitement to playtime, and it’s wonderful to see so many smiles and laughter as they enjoy this new addition.
Thank You
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs Lucero and her family for their incredible generosity and hard work in building a new shed to house our wellies. It’s a fantastic addition to our outdoor space and will help keep things organised and dry—especially as the weather turns!
With autumn settling in and wetter days ahead, please remember to send your child to school with wellies and waterproofs. This ensures they can continue enjoying outdoor play comfortably and safely.

Year 6 need your help!
Year 6 are in need of glass jars for an upcoming learning activity. If you have any spare jars at home, we would be very grateful for your donations.
Please ensure they are brought into school by Friday 3rd October.
Communication Reminder
Following feedback from parent surveys, all general school news will now be shared exclusively through this weekly newsletter. For updates that are specific to your child or require timely attention, you’ll continue to receive emails or Arbor messages. Please keep an eye out for these, as they may contain important information that cannot wait until the next newsletter.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend.
