Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another good week at Heathfields. The leadership team has awarded several headteachers awards and seen lots of fabulous work and good practice in lessons. We are particularly proud of the developments in handwriting across the school.
Donations
As the weather has got wetter and colder, the outdoor area is getting rather muddy. The children still want to play in the forest area. Therefore, we are seeking a bank of Wellington boots for the children to use at lunchtimes. Do you have any old or unused Wellington boots that you would like to donate to the school? In addition, we are looking for storage for the Wellington boots; do you have the skills to make an open storage unit that could house the Wellington boots? Or have any timber that someone could use to make the storage unit? If so contact the school office in the first instance.
Celebrations

The class with the best attendance this week was McKee with 100%
The class with the highest number of readers was Ahlberg with 96%
Health and Safety - Childhood illness
We have been asked to share with parents information about threadworms. Please look at the chart below, or you can click on the NHS to gain further information.
As a school, we will ensure that soap is always available and encourage the children to wash their hands properly on a regular basis.

Messages from the PTFA - Volunteer recruitment
We couldn’t run our PTA events without the fantastic support of our school community – thank you!
We’re currently looking for no-commitment volunteers who are happy to help only when they’re able. There’s no regular obligation or long-term role – just occasional help when it suits you.
This might include:
- Running a game/stall at events such as the Summer Fair
- Helping out with setting up events
- Refreshments at discos
- Approaching local companies for raffle prizes or donations
If you’d be happy for us to contact you when help is needed, please leave contact details with either office. We would love to hear from you! It makes a huge difference and helps us continue to fund activities and resources for the children.
Thank you for your support, The PTFA Team
Helping the local community
We have had a few complaints about dogs fouling on pavements on the school journey. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control, and we know that many dog owners walk their dogs on the school run and are responsible dog owners and pick up the mess. This fouling could be any local resident walking their dogs. If you have an issue in the local area about dogs fouling, please report this to Tamworth Borough Council;
www.tamworth.gov.uk/quick-links-report-it

Thank you for your continued support—we are proud of the school and have had the best attendance to date, please keep this up!
Have a lovely weekend!
Mr Melloy
