Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, children have fully immersed themselves in our enriched arts curriculum as part of the Better Together Arts Festival. The school has been filled with dancing, singing, poetry, artwork and an infectious buzz of excitement. Our favourite moment was seeing the entire school come together for a whole-school conga!
I would also like to thank everyone who supported our Summer Fair. The weather was certainly on our side, and it was lovely to see so many families, friends and members of our community coming together to enjoy the afternoon. A huge thank you must go to our PTFA and all the volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes to organise, set up and run the event.
This week has also included our transition days, helping pupils prepare for the exciting move to their next year group in September. We were delighted to welcome our new Year 3 pupils, who settled in quickly and embraced their new surroundings with confidence. Our Year 6 pupils returned excitedly sharing their experiences of visiting their high schools, while pupils across the rest of the school appeared settled, positive and ready for the next stage of their learning journey.

PTFA Update
??Sunflower Competition-Last call ??
Sunflower competition entries can be submitted to your teacher or posted on our Facebook page by Thursday. Please include your name, class and the height of your sunflower as we’ll be notifying winners on Friday.
Summer Fair Shoutout ????
We managed to raise a fantastic amount just over £1200 (after costs) which will help us reach a fundraising goal for a new sound system at the juniors.
How did we do? Do you have any fundraising suggestions and think you could help at events?
To continue raising much-needed funds that enhance the children’s school experience, we depend on volunteers. We’ve only been able to hold events so far thanks to staff support and we’d like to change that.
Our small team is eager to grow. As children progress to high school, we face a risk of losing volunteers or even disbanding the PTFA.
We’d love to hear from you if you could kindly offer some enthusiasm, time, skills or sponsorship from your employees.
Look out for meetings and announcements in the newsletter or Facebook page (Heathfields Infants and Wilnecote Juniors School PTFA) alternatively you can leave contact details at either office.
Have a super weekend

Fierte Festival -Better Together 2026
All parents and children are welcome to watch the Fierte Festival in the Castle Grounds on Saturday. Miss Davies, Miss Paskin and Miss Shelley will be representing Wilnecote Junior Academy with a selected group of children. The expected time that we will be on the stage will be 2.20pm. The event closes with a sing-along for all families at 4.20pm.
PE Kit
From September, children should come to school wearing their PE kit on the days they have PE. This will maximise learning time, reduce the need for changing during the school day and help PE lessons run smoothly.
As stated in our uniform policy, PE kit is as follows:
• A pair of black shorts
• A house coloured T-shirt (red, green, blue or yellow)
• Black pumps for indoor P.E
• Black jogging bottoms and a jumper should be worn for winter outdoor activities
• Trainers
Once timetables have been finalised for September, we will clarify PE days with all parents.
September Return
Next year's term dates for your diary are below. Please note that children return after the summer holidays on Thursday 3rd September.
Message regarding children with an EHCP
The county council are moving the social care records system from CareDirector to Liquidlogic this year. As part of this wider change, the EHC Hub will move to the Children’s, Young People and Families Portal in Autumn 2026.
The new portal will continue to support joined-up working around Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with all information kept up to date, safe and secure.
When our new Children’s, Young People and Families Portal is ready, we'll contact existing EHC Hub users with some instructions and invite them to set up a log in.
Morning Drop-off
We have been made aware that, while waiting for the school gates to open, some pupils have been playing ball games on the grounds of the medical centre. We would be grateful if you could remind your child that they should avoid playing any ball games or engaging in activities on the medical centre grounds.
Year 4 Design and Technology
For their upcoming Design and Technology lessons, Year 4 will be designing and making torches. To support this exciting project, we would be very grateful for donations of the following clean recyclable materials:
- Empty plastic bottles with lids
- Pringles (or similar) tubes
- Kitchen roll tubes
If you have any of these items at home, please send them into school over the coming days.
Staywell Digital Training
Please find details below about free online training sessions via Microsoft Teams, open to parents, carers, and professionals across Staffordshire.
As always, thank you for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend.
