Dear Parents and Carers
It has been a wonderful and creative week at Heathfields, with children fully immersing themselves in our enriched arts curriculum as part of the Better Together Arts Festival. Throughout the week, pupils have enjoyed a range of exciting experiences including poetry, dance, art, singing and creative writing activities, giving every child the opportunity to explore and celebrate their talents.
Alongside their festival learning, children have enjoyed visiting their new classrooms and spending time with their teachers in preparation for September. These transition opportunities have helped build confidence and excitement about the year ahead.
We were also delighted to welcome children from Wilnecote Junior Academy, who performed a fantastic concert for our pupils. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were inspired by the confidence, musical talent and enthusiasm of the junior performers.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We hope you enjoy reading about the many wonderful experiences and achievements across the school this week.

Fierte Festival -Better Together 2026
All parents and children are welcome to watch the Fierte Festival in the Castle Grounds on Saturday. Miss Hendrick and Miss Buttery will be representing Haethfields Infant Academy with a selected group of children. The expected time that Heathfields will be on the stage will be 1.40pm. The event closes with a sing-along for all families at 4.20pm.
This was a fabulous event last year, that was well-supported by our families.
Year 1 - Display of artwork
A couple of weeks ago, Year 1 had some volunteers from Tamworth Castle in making some flowers with the children. Their artwork alongside other groups will be displayed at Tamworth Castle.
They have shared the following message:
On 25 and 26 July, we’ll also be hosting the Kingdom of Mercia Family Fun Days, with activities including Viking and Saxon encampments, live performances and music from 10.00am–4.00pm. It would be wonderful if families could come along.
All details are available on Tamworth Castle’s social media channels.
PTFA Updates
Sunflower Competition-Last call
Sunflower competition entries can be submitted to your teacher or posted on our Facebook page by Thursday. Please include your name, class and the height of your sunflower as we’ll be notifying winners on Friday.
Summer Fair Shoutout
We managed to raise a fantastic amount just over £1200 (after costs) which will help us reach a fundraising goal for a new sound system at the juniors.
How did we do? Do you have any fundraising suggestions and think you could help at events?
To continue raising much-needed funds that enhance the children’s school experience, we depend on volunteers. We’ve only been able to hold events so far thanks to staff support and we would like to change that.
Our small team is eager to grow. As children progress to high school, we face a risk of losing volunteers or even disbanding the PTFA.
We’d love to hear from you if you could kindly offer some enthusiasm, time, skills or sponsorship from your employees.
Look out for meetings and announcements in the newsletter or Facebook page (Heathfields Infants and Wilnecote Juniors School PTFA) alternatively you can leave contact details at either office.

Message regarding children with an EHCP
The county council are moving the social care records system from CareDirector to Liquidlogic this year. As part of this wider change, the EHC Hub will move to the Children’s,Young People and Families Portal in Autumn 2026.
The new portal will continue to support joined-up working around Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with all information kept up to date, safe and secure.
When our new Children’s, Young People and Families Portal is ready, we'll contact existing EHC Hub users with some instructions and invite them to set up a log in.
Big Thank you to the PTFA - Thank you to the PTFA for organising the wonderful Summer Fair and for all the parents and scarers that have supported this with donations and attending the event.
Have a lovely weekend. I may see some of you at the Fierte Festival as I will be watching the children from Heathfields and then going to Llandudno for a pre-teacher visit ready for Year 2's annual trip to the seaside next week.
Regards
Mr Melloy
