Wilnecote Weekly Update - 15th October 2026

{item_alt_tag}

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we move through another busy and productive week, it has been wonderful to welcome Year 5 parents this week to our Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) workshops.

Our Chair of Governors has also spent time this week in school visiting lessons and talking with children about their learning. He was impressed by the positive attitudes displayed by pupils and the calm, purposeful atmosphere across the school.

A reminder that children will bring home their Maths books for you to look through today and celebrate the learning they have been completing in school.  This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with your child about their mathematical understanding and the progress they have made.

Please ensure that all Maths books are returned to school on Monday so that learning can continue as planned. Thank you for your support.

Congratulations to our Year 6 Cross Country Team!

We are incredibly proud of all the children who represented the school at the recent cross-country event. They demonstrated our school values throughout, showing outstanding resilience, determination and sportsmanship from start to finish. Several pupils achieved excellent finishing positions, but most importantly, every runner gave their very best effort and supported one another along the way. Well done, Team Year 6, on being such fantastic ambassadors for our school!

Hygiene Bank

Hygiene products donated by Tamworth Hygiene Bank are available from the school office. These items are provided to support our school community so please only take what you need to ensure they remain available for others who may benefit.

Harvest Food Bank Collection - Reminder

A final call for donations to support families and individuals in our local community as part of our Harvest celebrations. Food banks rely on the kindness and generosity of local people, and every donation helps provide essential food and household items to those who need them most.

If you are able to contribute, we would be very grateful for your support. Together, we can make a real difference to those facing challenging circumstances.

Please send any donations into school by Monday 19th October.

Halloween Safety

Halloween can be an exciting time of year for children, dressing up and going out after dark. But, whilst Halloween is supposed to be spooky, there are some horrors that families will want to avoid.

Please visit the Child Accident Prevention Trust website, for top tips for a safe Halloween that you can remember for all the right reasons:
