Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope everyone had a lovely half-term and enjoyed all the celebrations for Halloween and Bonfire night.
We had two fantastic Discos on Tuesday. All the children that attended were well-behaved and appeared to have enjoyed themselves. We would like to thank Mrs Wheeler and Miss Davies from the PTFA for their support during this event. The next events the PTFA will be holding are;
Non-school uniform – 28th November (we will share the themes with you next week)
Chocolate Bingo - 11th December at Wilnecote Junior School
Remembrance Day – Tuesday 11th November
As a mark of respect, we will be having a minute's silence and thinking about people we have lost, including soldiers from the past.
Children may come in their scouting or guiding uniforms for the day.
Staffing updates;
Mrs Guilder will remain off work next week. We are pleased to share that Miss Weston will be returning to cover the class for the week.
Miss Sippitts remains off work next week. Hopefully she will feel better, and we can invite her into the gold ribbon assembly on Friday to say farewell before she takes her new post up at Anker Valley Primary Academy.
Visitors to the school
Monday 10th November - Year 1 will welcome a visit from Staffordshire County Council delivering a workshop about Road Safety.
Friday 14th November – Reception parents are welcome to join their child in their classroom for a stay and play session at 2pm. The Overwoods Road gate will be open from 1.55pm - 2.05pm. As this session will be held in the classroom, we need to limit numbers to just one adult per child.
Celebrations
The class with the highest number of readers was Ahlberg Class with 88%
The class with the best attendance was Child class with 98.6%
Workshops
Marnie Aston will be delivering part 2 of her training to parents – Wednesday 12th November at 9am at Heathfields. Part 2 with strategies and resources with A Child and School In Mind. This would be more of an interactive workshop-type session.
Fundraising
We have a fundraising arrangement with Stikins (www.stikins.co.uk) who donate 30% of all money raised to our school for any name labels purchased. Just enter 25495 into the order form to link to our account. Thank you for helping us to return lost property to its rightful owners!
