{item_alt_tag}

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thanks to all the parents that have visited Heathfields for the stay and play session in Reception, Marnie Aston's parent workshop and the last few gold ribbon assemblies. I am pleased to share that Reception children now coming and joining us for Gold Ribbon assemblies.

Remembrance Day

All the children have had an assembly and studied the reasons for Remembrance Day. At 11am we all stopped work and had a minute of reflection in the classrooms.

Thank you to those parents and children that purchased a poppy.

Staffing updates;

We had said farewell to Mrs Sippitts today. We would all like to thank her for the tremendous work that she did at Heathfields. We would like to wish her the best of luck at her new school.

Visitors to the school

Monday 17th November –Year 2 Parents can attend a spelling workshop at 9am. Year 2 will welcome a visit from Staffordshire County Council delivering a workshop about Road Safety. This may include the Fire Brigade coming to the school.

Thursday 20th November – Mr Hand (Trust Vice CEO) will be in school working with the leadership team and evaluating the progress that the school made last year.

Friday 21st November – Donaldson and McKee class will welcome parents to a stay and pla session at 2.00pm (as this was postponed due to staffing illness)

Celebrations

The class with the highest number of readers was Ahlberg Class with 92%

The class with the best attendance was Child class with 94.5%

Headlice

We have had a few children with cases of headlice. We have called the parents and asked them to treat their child's hair. Can I please ask all families to check their child's hair once a week? You may find the following video useful;

PTFA events

All children have designed a piece of Christmas artwork. These have been sent off to the company and shortly you will be sent further instructions and links should you wish for this piece of work to be produced on items such as Christmas cards, mugs and a variety of other products. For every product purchased, the PTFA will get a small donation.

The family bingo session will be held on Friday 11th December. The PTFA are asking for donations that can be turned into coloured-themed hampers . . . . We would like donations of the following colours on Friday 28th November:

Reception – Red coloured items for the red hamper

Year 1 – Blue coloured items for the blue hamper

Year 2 – Gold coloured items for the gold hamper

Do not worry if you bring in a different colour as they are making up a multicoloured hamper too!

If your child brings in a donation, they can come to school in non-school uniform on that day (children do not have to wear these colours).

Parking

Can we ask for your help if you bring or collect your child in a car. We have received a few complaints from residents about parents parking either in their allocated parking spaces or blocking their driveways.

We have also had a few parents share that cars are being parked on pavements that are causing obstructions for pedestrians.

Hygiene bank

We have been given some donations from Tamworth's Hygiene Bank. These have been placed in the entrance hall at both schools, parents may help themselves to items that are needed.

Fundraising

We have a fundraising arrangement with Stikins (www.stikins.co.uk) who donate 30% of all money raised to our school for any name labels purchased. Just enter 25495 into the order form to link to our account. Thank you for helping us to return lost property to its rightful owners!

Thank you for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mr Melloy
