Lunch Menu & Catering

Both Wilnecote Junior and Heathfields Infant have kitchens on site that provide hot meals, salads and home made deserts to our pupils.  All of our menus comply to the current nutritional standards and are subject to change sometimes at short notice. Sugar saturated fat has been drastically reduced and all of our drinks are school compliant. Any allergies or religious needs can be addressed, please speak to the school office who will direct you to the appropriate person. If you wish your child can bring in a Healthy Lunchbox prepared at home if they don't want a school dinner.

We actively encourage children to consider their lifestyle and make healthy life choices. Our kitchen staff support us in this respect by providing a range of healthy snacks for children to purchase at morning break at Wilnecote Juniors and by encouraging a balanced choice of food at lunchtime. We encourage children to bring healthy snack each day such as fruit (no crisps). Sweets, fizzy drinks and chocolate are not permitted in school for break time. Meals at Wilnecote Juniors are charged at the standard county rate (£2.30), while all children at Heathfields Infants are entitled to a Universal Free School meal.

School dinners at Wilnecote Junior should be pre-booked via our online cashless system ParentPay (link is on the homepage of our school website). Once the dinner is booked, the payment must be confirmed within 2 hours, otherwise the booking will be cancelled and parents/carers will receive an email to inform them. Dinners need to be booked and paid for by the midnight for the following day.

In case of an emergency and last minute booking, parents should contact school office as soon mas possible. School office might be able to order late lunch with our kitchen staff and will add late booking to child’s ParentPay account. Parents/carers must pay for this before lunchtime.

Break Snacks

  • Heathfields Infant provides a milk scheme that is available to all of our pupils. School milk is free for under-5s (until the Friday before your child’s fifth Birthday) and for over-5s it is available at a subsidised price of 22p per day.
  • Parents/Carers should register online at www.coolmilk.com or complete a registration form available from the school office.

At Heathfields Infant School, children are also provided with a free piece of fruit at break times.

At Wilnecote Junior School, children have the opportunity to purchase snack during the break time. The full price list is available on the school website.

Payments

The Junior Site is using ParentPay, online secure system. ParentPay offers the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available. Every pupil has a secure online account, activated using a unique username and password; parents will be prompted to change these, and to keep them safe and secure. If you have more than one child at our school or children at other ParentPay schools, you can create a single account login for all your children. Making a payment is straight forward and ParentPay holds a payment history for to be viewed at a later date. Parents can use PayPoint or credit / debit card for payments; no card details are stored in any part of the system. PayPoint payments are recorded by ParentPay and can be seen by logging into ParentPay account. The nearest PayPoint stores to school are A5 Stores at Watling Street and Co-Operative store at Brent Wilnecote. School Office is able to provide parent with PayPoint card if parents / carers wish to use the PayPoint facility. A plastic card will be issued to make cash payments for school meals, breakfast club or trips at local PayPoint stores. The first card is free of charge however, any lost or damaged cards will be charged at £2.00 each. Payment cards take about two weeks to arrive but we can issue a barcode letter as an interim measure. Trip and activity information letters carry a unique barcode which will allow making cash payments at local PayPoint store.
